Jovism has various beliefs and they may exist in harmony with other religions, however the principal beliefs are:

1. Jon Bon Jovi is a divine deity born to inspire the state of New Jersey, allowing them to rise above previous and current negative stereotypes

2. Love is the greatest entity that transcends beyond mortal life- evident in songs such as "What Do You Got?", "Livin' on a Prayer", "Love's the Only Rule" etc.

3. Bon Jovi has sacrificed/dedicated his life in order to teach the world (through music) that anything can be achieved if you believe and are prepared to live on a prayer
